About My Work

I am a retired Equine Veterinarian with a passion for wildlife photography. I find that this incorporates my artistic self with my deep interest, connection and love for all living creatures. I have been honored with recognition from Nature’s Best Photographer, Bird Photographer of the Year and North American Nature Photographers Association. The only time I can relax and slow my brain down (it tends to be a hamster on an exercise wheel), is when I am behind my camera and lens, and am totally imersed with my subject. I hope that I can illuminate the beauty and art inherent in our natural world. I find that wildlife – particularly birds – are especially keen conduits of this purpose.  If I can encourage my audience to relax, laugh at my subject’s antics, appreciate the colors, textures and forms, or learn behaviors and traits, then my art has been a success for others.
